Welcome to the Stanway Rovers Ladies teams - Presentation Night. A huge well done to four of our younger players. They have given 10 years service to Stanway Rovers Football Club, making their way through our various youth teams. In recognition of this achievement, the four were presented with Stanway Rovers shirts bearing their name and the number 10 to mark their ten years. We are currently conducting our "2024 Cabaret Survey" to find out what you our fans, visitors, volunteers and everyone that comes to, or wants to come to, Stanway Rover Cabaret Nights actually want from these cabaret nights. After asking for your name (so we can eliminate duplication responses) and your age group (so we can identify what the differing ages want to see), the form then consists of four questions: Do you like music tribute acts? If so, who? Do you like other types of live music acts or discos, i.e., 70's, 80's, country, jazz? If so, what? Do you like 'non-music' acts, i.e., magician, comedy? If so, what? How would you like to be told about our cabaret nights - so we can tell you? It should only take 5 to 10 minutes to complete this survey, and there are multiple ways to access it. You can either download the survey, from this link, print it out, fill it in, and bring it to the club. Or you can get hold of a paper copy of the survey from Bob Ritchie at the club, fill it in, and return it to Bob. Or you can fill in this "On Line" survey, click 'Send', and your views will automatically be submitted to the club - online survey form The survey is only open during June and July, so get your responses in quick. Our Stanway Rovers Saturday Walking Team was in action again yesterday, with another fantastic set of results. Yesterday, we played three, won two and drew one, a set of results that sees us extend our position at the top of the league table to a gap of 7 points. We are now the only undefeated team in this league. It's certainly getting exciting as we draw to the end of the season. There are still two weekends of football to go, with three matches each weekend, so there are still 18 points up for grabs. Our lead of 7 points is not unassailable. Both Stanway Rovers Sunday Walking Team were in action again on Sunday. The "A" team maintain their spot at the top of the table, but only by goal difference. They, and Brightlingsea B, have both won 8, drawn 4 and lost zero matches, with both accumulating 28 points. However, Stanway Rovers sit at the top by virtue of a +19 goal difference, with Brightlingsea B in hot pursuit with a goal difference of +18. With two days of football remaining this season (6 matches each), and with Rovers A and Brightlingsea B not meeting again until the final day of football, everything is still wide open. Things are not so rosy for the "B" team though, as they maintain their place at the bottom of the league. With one draw and 11 losses, everything is not over though, as we are fervently cheering our B team on for their first win of the season. We are delighted to announce that Jamie Shaw will continue through the 24/25 season. Jamie got off to a fantastic start putting together a great squad in little time, finishing the season with two trophies. Here’s to another successful season. Rovers Vice Chairman Jerry Carter said: We are delighted that Jamie & Anthony have committed their future to Rovers, and we're really looking forward to the season ahead. Jamie has created a balanced talented squad and the expectation from our fans is naturally going to be high after such a fantastic finish last season. The future is bright as we have a strong youth pathway. Our U23s reaching their cup final after finishing high in the Border League Premier Division. Next Season this team will be Stanway Rovers Reserves and we will also have an U23s team in the Thurlow Nunn league. With 45 Youth teams from the Stanway Community, the pathway at Stanway Rovers is stronger than ever. Jamie Shaw said: Firstly, I’d like to thank the board at Stanway, for showing belief in me. We ended the season really strongly. The boys were in top form, and we’ve proudly ended the campaign with two trophies for the club. The task now is to keep this team together and strengthen where we can and push on again.
