We are currently conducting our "2024 Cabaret Survey" to find out what you our fans, visitors, volunteers and everyone that comes to, or wants to come to, Stanway Rover Cabaret Nights actually want from these cabaret nights. After asking for your name (so we can eliminate duplication responses) and your age group (so we can identify what the differing ages want to see), the form then consists of four questions: Do you like music tribute acts? If so, who? Do you like other types of live music acts or discos, i.e., 70's, 80's, country, jazz? If so, what? Do you like 'non-music' acts, i.e., magician, comedy? If so, what? How would you like to be told about our cabaret nights - so we can tell you? It should only take 5 to 10 minutes to complete this survey, and there are multiple ways to access it. You can either download the survey, from this link, print it out, fill it in, and bring it to the club. Or you can get hold of a paper copy of the survey from Bob Ritchie at the club, fill it in, and return it to Bob. Or you can fill in this "On Line" survey, click 'Send', and your views will automatically be submitted to the club - online survey form The survey is only open during June and July, so get your responses in quick. Our Stanway Rovers Walking Teams were in action again over the weekend of 20th and 21st July. Saturday Essex League Over 50's Division 4 Our Saturday team played three games on 20th July, winning two matches and drawing one. This keeps our Saturday team on top of the table, with just one weekend of (three) matches remaining to complete the 2024 league season. With 28 points, we have a lead of 9 points over 2nd placed Bexley Whites, who have amassed 19 points. Just one point from a possible 9 points guarantees us as league champions for the 2024 season. The final league matches are to be played on Saturday 7th September. Sunday North Essex Friendly Alliance League Our two Sunday teams each played three games on 21st July, with the following results: Sunday A team - won 2 matches, drew one match Sunday B team - drew one match, lost two matches These results for our Sunday A team keep them on top of the table, but only by goal difference! We have accumulated 35 points this season, as have second placed Brightlingsea B, but our goal difference of +22 compared to Brightlingsea's +15 see us currently holding the much coveted top spot. The season comes to an exciting finish with our A team playing Brightlingsea B on the last league weekend of the season. This fixture was a 2-2 draw earlier in the season, so there is very little between the top two teams in the league and there is everything to play for. These results for our Sunday B team see them remaining at the bottom of the table, with the pleasing news that we secured our 2nd point on 21st July. Our Sunday B team play our Sunday A team on the final league weekend of the season on 8th September, and with the Sunday A team pushing for the league title, this will be a tightly contested match.
